TORONTO, ON – Amsterdam Brewery has announced that two seasonal beers will be making their way to LCBO shelves later this month.

Home Grown Saison is a 6% abv saison that is part of the Amsterdam Farmhouse Series. Previously available in trial runs on tap at the Amsterdam BrewHouse and other select beer bars, this version of the beer is described by brewer Cody Noland as “balanc[ing] the funky and fruity acidity of barrel aged saisons with the breadiness of Ontario grown wheat.”

Starke Pilsner has been available on a limited basis at various points over the past few years, and is now returning as a fully fledged seasonal release from the brewery. The 5.2% pilsner is lagered for 8 weeks before release, and as brewmaster Iain McOustra notes, “the spicy noble aroma and a lingering bitterness works well with the Czech yeast strain that we chose.”

Both beers will be released later this month – Home Grown in 650 ml bottles, Starke in 473 ml cans – and will be available at both Amsterdam retail locations, and select LCBO stores.
