FERNIE, BCFernie Brewing has announced the release of a pair of new beers, one a new spring seasonal, and the other the latest in the bimonthly Bucket List series of limited edition IPAs.

Old Barn Saison is a 6% abv farmhouse ale that pays tribute to the brewery’s original home in the historic Dicken Road barn. It’s described as follows:

This is our take on the classic, refreshing and unassuming, yet delicious Belgian beer. Surprisingly light, but packs a punch of flavour to enjoy. It’s a very aromatic flavourful, golden brew, with spicy, peppery and fruity notes – with the additions of peppercorns and orange peel. The classic Strisselspalt and New Zealand Pacific Jade hops make for a very engaging hop profile.

The Eldorado IPA is a 6.8% abv and 75-80 IBU single hop ale with lemongrass that is a new addition to the rotating Bucket List IPA series. It has the following notes:

Eldorado Hop is the focus of this single hop, unfiltered IPA. In addition to the stone fruit flavours of the Eldorado Hop, we have added distinctive lemongrass to provide a little extra citrus zing.

Both beers are available now in 650 ml bottles at retail stores in BC and Alberta, with The Eldorado IPA to be released in Manitoba later this month.

The brewery also notes that the Fernie Summer Craft Collection Pack will be returning soon, featuring three cans each of Project 9 Pilsner, The Griz Pale Ale, Lone Wolf IPA and Big Caboose Red Ale. It will be available until September in BC, Alberta and Manitoba.
