Bent Stick Brewing Launching Soon in Edmonton

EDMONTON, ABPrairie beer blog On Beer reports that a new brewing venture founded by four former employees of the city’s oldest craft brewery will soon be open in Edmonton.

Bent Stick Brewing is being launched by Scott Kendall, Kurtis Jensen, Patrick Gaudet and Ben Rix – all formerly of Alley Kat Brewing – and is producing beer in a small industrial space in the northeast of the city. The space and location doesn’t allow for a tasting room or retail store, so distribution will be limited to 650 ml bomber bottles available exclusively at select local liquor stores.

While the partners intend to have a constantly changing roster of beers available, their two initial brands will be the first edition of Swap the Hops, a pale ale that will be made with different hops each time its brewed (the first has been made with Cascade and Herkules); and Brick is Red, a Northwest-style red ale.

Bent Stick beers are expected to be released to stores in the next few days, once final AGLC approvals have been received. For more details, see the full On Beer article, and the Bent Stick Brewing Facebook page.
