TORONTO, ON – The Toronto location of the Granite Brewery is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, and in honour of the milestone, the brewery is launching two funds to assist the community where it has been located since opening in 1991.
The Granite Brewery Charitable Fund has been established with an initial amount of $25,000, with more to be raised via ongoing initiatives and events. Approximately 20% of the fund will be distributed each year to local charities that will be selected by a volunteer panel.
The Granite Brewery Scholarship Program is a companion fund that will distribute $5000 each year to post-secondary students, with applications open to customers, staff and their families. The money for this year’s award will come from sales of Granite Anniversary Ale, while subsequent years will have funding provided by a special Scholarship Ale brewed each spring.
