THREE HILLS, AB – Alberta beer news site The Daily Beer reports that a new nanobrewery will be launching soon in Three Hills, a small town located 120 km northeast of Calgary.
Prairie Brewing Company has been founded by Ryan Ferguson, Mark Ferguson (no relation) and Darren Kester. The company recently received AGLC approval, and brewing has started on a 1 barrel system.
Prairie will be opening up with three core brands – Prairie IPA, Prairie Brown and Prairie Wit – with availability limited to the local market while on the current small system. The partners hope to move to a 20 barrel system within a year, at which point the brand line-up and distribution is likely to expand.
