TORONTO, ON – A group of partners have announced plans to open a new brewery and restaurant next year in Riverside, a neighbourhood in Toronto’s east end.

Eastbound Brewing is being founded by a team that includes brewmaster David Lee (previously of Kensington Brewing, Mill Street & Grand River), his wife and chef Tara Lee (currently sous chef at Bar Hop Brewco), brand lead Adam Stiles (popular TV meteorologist on CityNews and longtime craft beer lover), and managing partner Dave Watson.

Located in a 3,500 square foot space at 700 Queen Street East near Broadview, Eastbound will feature a brewhouse, 80 seat brewpub, and retail store selling cans to go. David Lee intends to create beers that “respect tradition, but at the same time push the boundaries of innovation,” while Tara’s food menus will focus on dishes that “play along with [the] evolving beer list.”

Eastbound Brewing is aiming to open in early 2017. For more details, see the brewery’s website and Facebook page.
