LONDON, ON – Forked River Brewing has announced details of a new limited edition beer to commemorate Remembrance Day and the war veterans that it honours.

Flanders Red Ale is a 6.7% abv barrel-aged sour beer with the following description:

Complex, special, remarkable – Flanders Red Ale is a style of sour ale brewed in West Flanders, Belgium. Due to their colour, long ageing and flavours, the style is often described as the most wine-like of all beers; in fact, the Flanders Red Ale is often referred to as the “Burgundy of Belgium”. Our version of this pinnacle in sour beers has been aged in red wine barrels for a full year, and has all those classic flavours, such as black cherry, plums and red currants in a deep sourness that may surprise you. While Flanders Red may be an acquired taste, it is unquestionably a beer you need to try if youare looking to expand your beer education.

Forked River Flanders Red Ale will be released tomorrow (November 2nd) in a limited run of 500 ml red wax sealed bottles that will be available exclusively at the brewery retail store. $1 from each bottle sold will be donated to a charity that assists Canadian veterans with physical or mental health illnesses.
