ORLÉANS, ON – The newest brewery in the National Capital Region has announced the debut of its first brand.
Stray Dog Brewing is based in the Orléans district in the eastern part of Ottawa, and has been founded by homebrewers Justin MacNeill & Marc Plante and partner Gen Benay.
The first Stray Dog brand is This One, which the brewery describes as follows:
Our take on a California Common, a unique North American style with a rich history dating back to the Gold Rush era, This One is based on our award-winning recipe. It has a moderate malt presence, intertwined with balanced notes of toast and caramel, finished with hints of rustic wood and mint on the nose. It has a beautiful copper colour that finishes as crisp as an autumn morning. When your server asks what you’d like to drink, point at the menu and say, “I’ll have This One.”
Stray Dog This One is on tap now at select pubs in the Orléans area including OCCO Kitchen, Broadway Orleans Gardens, and D & S Southern Comfort BBQ, with more locations to come.
The Stray Dog brewing facility is not currently open to the public, but there are plans to open a taproom and retail store in early to mid 2017. For more details, follow the Stray Dog Facebook page.
