HALIFAX, NS – Garrison Brewing has announced the release of two new beers in its Garrison Cellar Series, both of them aged in rum barrels from Ironworks Distillery in Lunenburg.

Rum-Barrel Aged Honey Lavender Ale was released on November 18th, and sees the base beer – a 6.5% ale brewed with wildflower honey and local lavender – transformed into an 11%
warmer described as being “super complex, rich, and delectably sweet.”

It was followed on November 25th by Rum-Barrel Aged Spruce Beer, which also had a big jump in abv – 7.5% to 11% – and flavours of wood and rum added to the original beer’s molasses, spruce and fir notes.

Both beers are available in 650 ml bottles at the Garrison retail store while supplies last.
