CALGARY, AB – Brewsters Brewing has announced the release of a landmark vintage of an always anticipated seasonal beer, as well as a special edition to help mark the milestone.
Blue Monk Barley Wine is an award-winning 9.5% abv ale that is a winter tradition for the brewery. It’s described as “a complex brew with sweet fruit tones and a slight hop bitterness.”
Joining it this year is Blue Monk Bourbon Barley Wine, an 11.8% version that has been aged for 7 months in Kentucky bourbon barrels. The result features a “smoky whisky flavour [that] pairs well with the barley wine and creates a truly one of a kind brew.”
Blue Monk and Blue Monk Bourbon will be available on tap at all Brewsters locations in Alberta, as well as in limited runs of 355 ml bottles that will be on sale next week at select liquor stores across the province and Brewsters retail stores.
