Folly Brewpub Hosting Barasway Day This Weekend

TORONTO, ONFolly Brewpub has announced details of its first Barasway Day, which will be happening at the brewpub this coming weekend.

Named in honour of Great Barasway and Little Barasway, two communities in Newfoundland – the home province of Folly’s brewers Christina Coady and Chris Conway – Barasway Day will see the release of a pair of variants of Great Barasway Brett Imperial Porter, which is itself a special version of the seasonal Little Barasway Brett Porter.

According to the event announcement: “One has been aged in red wine barrels for a year with saison yeasts and brett for a dry/tart/funky character, while the other was fermented in bourbon barrels with just brett resulting in a more fruity/chocolaty version.”

In addition to both versions of Great Barasway bring available in bottles and on tap, a tasting flight will be available featuring the pair along with Little Barasway and Loquacious Quad, and food pairings by chef Anthony Santi.

Barasway Day will take place at Folly Brewpub (928 College St., Toronto) on Saturday January 28th starting at 1:00 PM. For more details, see the Facebook event page.
