Valonray Farmhouse Brewing Planning Summer Opening in New Brunswick

MACDOUGALL SETTLEMENT, NBThe Atlantic Canada Beer Blog reports that a new brewery is aiming for to open this summer in MacDougall Settlement, a small community in New Brunswick approximately 25 km north of Moncton.

Valonray Farmhouse Brewing is being founded by Phil and Allison Fontaine, and is named after the anglicized version of Walonereye, which means Wallonia in the Walloon French dialect.

Valonray will be launching with a line-up of American-style ales, with a number of Belgian-style ales aged in 225 litre oak barrels to follow several months later.

The beers will be brewed using locally grown and sourced ingredients, and will be available to select licensees on tap, and in bottles at ANBL outlets. A taproom will follow in 2018, and eventually the brewery will offer barrel-aged sour beers and other farmhouse styles.
