GRAVENHURST, ON – A trio of breweries in Ontario’s Muskoka Region – Sawdust City Brewing, Muskoka Brewery, and Lake of Bays Brewing – have announced the release of their first ever three-way collaborative beer.
Pancake Breakfast Maple Ale was brewed especially for the Muskoka Maple Trail & Festival, a celebration of the local maple sap harvest.
The beer was brewed with three maple infusions – “maple sap incorporated into the base water, pure maple syrup added to the boiling process, and a third dose of syrup being during the secondary fermentation process” – with the sap and syrup provided by Sweetwater Maple Syrup in Bracebridge and Maple Bluff Farm in Huntsville. The result is described as follows:
Pancake Breakfast is a toasted golden brown ale that is inspired by a perfectly flipped pancake. With a doughy malt centre and aromas of cinnamon & vanilla leading the way. The pure Muskoka maple syrup provides a rich body and lingering sweet, viscous finish. This specialty maple ale will remind you of sitting around the table enjoying a warm plate of cinnamon pancakes drizzled with Canada’s favourite syrup.
Pancake Breakfast Maple Ale is available to sample until April 23rd at all three participating breweries.
