OTTAWA, ON – Kichesippi Beer Co. has announced the return of a spring seasonal beer that is back to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the historic local icon it’s named after.
Kichesippi Car 696 is a 6.3% abv Maibock that “offers a light copper colour with a refreshing hop finish.”
Its name comes from Streetcar 696, one of a fleet of streetcars that operated in Ottawa from 1891 to 1959. 696 went into service in 1917, and is currently being restored for its 100th anniversary.
Car 696 is available now in 473 ml cans at the Kichesippi retail store, and will soon be on tap at all Royal Oak pubs in Ottawa.
