Oast House Digs Artesian Well for Brewing Farmhouse Ale Collection

NIAGARA-ON-THE-LAKE, ONNiagara Oast House Brewers has announced that it has “has taken further steps towards producing totally indigenous beers” with the digging of an artesian well on its 9-acre property.

According to a statement from the brewery:

Having drilled down 110 feet, we reached an abundant, ancient underground river likely dating back to the days of prehistoric glacial Lake Iroquois. Starting soon, each beer from Oast’s Farmhouse Ale Collection will be crafted with 100% natural, artesian well water. These beers will also be driven by native yeasts isolated from the property in collaboration with Escarpment Labs. News on hop yard planting to follow soon.
