COLLINGWOOD, ON – Side Launch Brewing has announced details of the third release in its Ships of Collingwood Series of limited edition beers.
Named after ships that were built and launched in Collingwood’s historic shipyards, the latest in the series is Majestic Saison, a 6.1% abv ale with “a light banana nose and flavours of banana, orange, clove, and slight peppery spice.”
Majestic Saison takes it’s name from The Majestic, a boat with the following back story:
The Majestic was a wooden passenger and package freight propeller built in 1895. It launched April 23rd, 1895. With 800 passengers aboard, she took part in ceremonies at the opening of the Canadian Soo Canal, September 7, 1895. She mostly operated in the Georgian Bay – Mackinac Island route. Unfortunately, she was destroyed by fire in Sarnia, December 15, 1915.
Majestic Saison is launching later this week, and will be available in 1 litre swingtop bottles at the Side Launch retail store and select licensees in Ontario while supplies last.
