Picaroons Launches Pivot Imperial IPA

FREDERICTON, NBPicaroons Traditional Ales has announced the launch of a new beer that is described as an “interactive Imperial IPA where we are pivoting the hops around the same grain bill every batch.”

Picaroons Pivot Imperial IPA is an 8% abv strong ale brewed using “a solid foundation of Canadian 2-row barley with a dash of Canadian Toasted Wheat,” with each batch featuring a different hop bill that can be looked up at the Pivot page on the Picaroons website.

Pivot Batch #1 was brewed with Warrior, Azacca, and Hallertau Blanc, in an attempt to “create a hybrid West-coast-meets-East-coast Imperial IPA while still keeping our core English yeast a part of the picture.” It will be released today (May 19th) exclusively on draught at The Picaroons Roundhouse, The Picaroons Brewtique, The Picaroons General Store, and The 5 Kings Restaurant & Picaroons Brewhouse.

Pivot Batch #2 was brewed with Warrior and Azacca, with increased dry-hopping, resulting in a beer that is “tropical and resiny” with “huge pineapple notes, along with passionfruit, mango and pine.” It will be available next week throughout New Brunswick in a limited run of 500 ml bottles.
