McAuslan Brewing Founder Peter McAuslan Added to Order of Canada

MONTREAL, QC – A pioneer of Canada’s craft brewing scene has been given one of the country’s highest honours, alongside 98 of his fellow citizens.

Peter McAuslan, the founder of McAuslan Brewing, is one of 99 new appointees to the Order of Canada, and will now be formally addressed as “Peter Gould McAuslan, C.M.” to reflect his position as Member of the Order.

McAuslan founded his namesake brewery in Montreal in 1988, and grew it to become one of the largest and best-known craft breweries in the country. He and his wife & co-founder Ellen Bounsall left the company in 2013 when it was sold to Les Brasseurs RJ, but he has since returned to the alcohol business with the launch of the craft spirits company, McAuslan Malting & Distilling.

Canadian Beer News congratulates McAuslan and his fellow appointees on their new honours.
