Granville Island Releases Small Batch BC Bitter & Renames Hefeweizen

VANCOUVER, BC – Granville Island Brewing has announced the release of a new brand in its Small Batch Series of specialty beers, as well as the introduction of a new name for one of its core products.

BC Bitter is the new Small Batch beer, and it is a 5.5% abv and 32 IBU ale described as follows:

Local ingredients add BC flavour to this traditional English bitter. Nugget and Chinook hops from Lillooet balance brilliantly with Pilsner malt from Armstrong for a slightly hoppy, bready summer beer.

BC Bitter is available now in 650 ml bottles, as well as growlers and crowlers at the Granville Island retail store.

Also out now is Sunshine Coast Hefeweizen, the new name and branding for the beer previously known as Hey Day Hefeweizen since 2013, and Robson St. Hefeweizen for nearly a decade before that. The 5% abv and 15 IBU wheat ale has the following notes:

Enjoy a little sunshine year round with this bright, crisp wheat ale. Brewed in the traditional German style, Bavarian yeasts create refreshing fruit notes for a complex yet balanced beer that won’t be out of place at brunch, your next BBQ or game night with friends.

Sunshine Coast Hefeweizen will be available at the retail locations, bars and restaurants that previously carried Hey Day.
