As noted on the B Corp website, companies receiving this certification have been shown to “meet rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency.”
“The B Corp ethos was built into our business on day one, and we’ve worked towards this for over two years. It’s challenged us to become a better company, and helped us create a corporate culture that we are very proud of,” said Upstreet CEO Mitch Cobb in a statement. “We are thrilled to join other socially conscious Certified B Corps; it’s possibly our greatest accomplishment to date.”
Other Canadian breweries among the more than 2,000 certified B Corp members in numerous industries and countries around the world include Beau’s All Natural Brewing, Picaroons Traditional Ales, Persephone Brewing, and Brasserie New Deal.
