Railway City Releasing 2017 Edition of Double Dead Elephant Ale

ST. THOMAS, ON – Railway City Brewing has announced release details for this year’s edition of an annual autumn variation on one of the brewery’s flagship beers.

Double Dead Elephant Ale is an amped up version of Dead Elephant Ale, brewed to higher alcohol and bitterness levels, and described as follows:

Double Dead Elephant is our Imperial IPA that’s bigger and better than ever before! With twice the amount of hops than our original Dead Elephant Ale, this brew puts a whole new meaning to the phrase “Live Life Large”.  Come one, come all, and enjoy a seasonal treat with aromas of peach, cantaloupe and cotton candy. A playful dance of bitter sweet teases the palate with hoppy resins and candied peaches. Ringing in at 8% alc./vol., this brew is both warming and staggeringly bitter.

The 2017 edition of Double Dead Elephant will be officially released Friday September 15th with a release party at the brewery from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. This fittingly falls on the anniversary of the death of Jumbo, the famous circus elephant who was killed by a train after a show in St. Thomas, which is the incident that inspired the name of the both beers.

Following the release event, Double Dead Elephant Ale will be available at select LCBO locations and the Railway City retail store in 473 ml cans while supplies last.
