Nickel Brook Announces Autumn Releases & Tap Domination Tour

BURLINGTON, ON – Nickel Brook Brewing has announced details of a pair of beers that will be hitting shelves in coming weeks, as well as plans for a series of tap takeover events at several of Ontario’s best beer bars.

Due out by the first week of October is this year’s edition of Ontario Wet Hop Pale Ale (5.3% abv, 40 IBU), a fresh hop ale made with 100% local ingredients, and described as follows:

This wet-hopped Pale Ale is made entirely with freshly-picked Ontario hops, giving the beer a crisper, grassier flavour with a sweet biscuity finish. The malt is also Ontario-grown, using primarily Ontario Select malt from Canada Malting. Drink as fresh as possible to enjoy maximum hop aroma and flavour!

Around the same time, Uncommon Element Brett Pale Ale (5.2% abv, 38 IBU) will be graduating from its appearance in this summer’s Funk 101 Mix Pack to a stand alone release. It has the following tasting notes:

Fermented with 100% Brett Drie yeast, a “wild yeast”, this delightful brew combines guava and pineapple hoppiness with moderate straw and barnyard funk from the Brett. The active Brett yeast will continue to evolve the beer’s character over time.

Both beers will be available in the Nickel Brook retail store and at select LCBO locations, and are also likely to be featured on at least some events on the Nickel Brook Tap Domination Tour, for which the brewery has been “holding on to kegs of our favourite new releases this year, ageing some beers to fully mature, and filling a couple casks with classic brews.”

Stops in the series will include:

Hamilton – The Ship – Tuesday, September 19
Toronto – Society of Beer Drinking Ladies Bevy 35 – Friday, September 29
Toronto – The Only Cafe – Thursday, October 12
Ottawa – LUPULUS – Sunday, October 21
London – Milos’ Craft Beer Emporium – Sunday, November 26
