Beau’s Continues Ottawa 2017 Series with Rheostatics Collaboration

VANKLEEK HILL, ON – Beau’s All Natural Brewing has announced details for the latest in its monthly series of collaborative beers being released as part of the brewery’s partnership with Ottawa 2017.

Parliament of Trees is a 6% abv ale that was developed collaboratively between Beau’s and Dave Bidini of the legendary Canadian indie band Rheostatics, who will be headlining the Saturday night concert at the upcoming Beau’s Oktoberfest.

The beer takes its name from a lyric in the Rheostatics song “Northern Wish,” and is described as follows:

“Finding warmth in cold places is a big sort of thing with us,” explains Bidini, characterizing his band’s tone while brainstorming ideas. The resulting beer is billed as an autumn warmer, evoking the sensory experience of smoky campfires, big piles of leaves, and all things dry and crackly when the summer fades away. Parliament of Trees pours a deep mahogany, and features notes of raisins, plums, fruits and dark malt, with impressions of caramel sweetness. A portion of the pale ale malts were smoked using oak, hickory and cherrywood chips, adding a whiff of campfire smoke to the creation.

Parliament of Trees will be available at Beau’s Oktoberfest, with preview bottles now on sale at the Beau’s retail store.

As with all beers in the Beau’s Ottawa 2017 series, a portion of sales will be donated to a charity, with the recipient in this case being Lake Ontario Waterkeeper, an organization working to protect Lake Ontario and the Great Lakes.
