Village Brewery Announces 2017 Edition of Village Gardener Community Involved Ale

CALGARY, AB – Village Brewery has announced details of this year’s edition of a unique beer that takes the concept of “community involvement” to a whole new level.

Village Gardener 2017 is a 4.7% abv Beet Session Ale brewed using hops grown in 13 local community gardens and dozens of Calgary backyards, as well as locally grown beets. The resulting beer is “packed with whole-leaf hop aroma, earthy notes, and a purple tinge provided by the beets, all coming together to make the most Calgary tasting beer ever.”

Released once again in partnership with ATB Financial, which provides financial support for the participating community gardens, this year’s version of Village Gardener will be released today (October 11th) with a launch event from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at Char-Bar (618 Confluence Way SE). It will be available in a limited run of 650 ml bottles at the brewery and select liquor stores in Calgary while supplies last.
