Brightwood Brewery Announces Expansion Plans

DARTMOUTH, NS – On the latest episode of Atlantic Canada beer podcast 902 Brewcast, the owners of Dartmouth’s Brightwood Brewing revealed that it will soon be moving to a larger and publicly accessible location.

Launched in the summer of 2016 by Ian Lawson and Matt McGrail, Brightwood is currently based on a 1-barrel system in Lawson’s basement, where the duo brew small batch beers to be sold in growlers at the Alderney Landing Farmers Market.

The new facility will be located in a former furniture store at 35 Portland St. in downtown Dartmouth, where Brightwood will be sharing space with Lake City Cider House. It will feature a 10-barrel brewing system, canning line, taproom and retail store.

No firm timeline has been announced for the completion and opening of the new Brightwood location, but details will likely be reported via the brewery’s Facebook page as they are confirmed.
