VANKLEEK HILL, ON – Beau’s All Natural Brewing has announced two award-winning dark beers will be returning for seasonal visits later this week.
The Bottle Imp (9% abv) is a Russian imperial coffee stout that was originally released in 2013 as part of a Pro-Am Series of collaborations with homebrewers. Co-created with David Thompson, it’s described as follows:
This dark, roasty and rich creation benefits from an infusion of Nicaraguan and Guatemalan fair-trade organic coffee, which was roasted locally by Bridgehead in Ottawa. The blend of coffees were selected by the team at Beau’s for this year’s release based on their flavour profiles of toasted nuts, smokiness, caramel, strawberry, and blueberry. The coffee character is fully integrated, and complements the roast of the malts. The Bottle Imp experience is rich and intense, with gentle alcohol warmth, and a long complex finish.
Dunkel (5.7% abv) is a Bavarian-style dark lager that was available earlier this year as part of the Beau’s FeBREWary promotion, where it proved to be so popular that the brewery decided to bring it back. It has the following notes:
Dunkel pours mahogany with a billowy white foam while the aroma offers mocha and bread crust notes. Its flavour features deep malt impressions, hints of chocolate and a balanced, reserved hop presence. It’s a satisfying choice for those who love both the rich roastiness of a dark beer and the clean finish of a lager.
The Bottle Imp and Dunkel will both be released on November 2nd, and will be available in 600 ml bottles at the Beau’s brewery store and select locations in Ontario and Quebec, with The Bottle Imp also set to be distributed in British Columbia, Alberta, New York, and Massachusetts.
Both beers will also be available at Beau’s Black Friday, an event taking place at the brewery on the weekend of November 24th to 26th that will feature “a dark beer tap takeover, DJ music, stein-hold struggle competitions, delicious food,” and more.
