GRAVENHURST, ON – Sawdust City Brewing has announced the release of two seasonal stouts – one returning, the other brand new – that are ideal to enjoy in the quickly approaching cooler weather.
Back for another year is Long Dark Voyage to Uranus (9.5% abv), which is described as follows:
This bold stout, lovingly nicknamed LDV, is brewed with lots of roasted and chocolate malts. It’s tongue crushingly bitter and dry as a bone. A touch of sugar gives the beer hints of sweetness. Vanilla and molasses characters shine through along with the chocolate flavour to round out this impressive Imperial Stout.
Brand new in the Fever Dream series of beers that are created by the “dream team” of head brewer Caleb and packaging manager James is Hygge Coffee Stout, a beer that shares its name with an earlier release in the series, but is very different otherwise:
Hugge 2017 is a full-bodied stout with a rich, creamy mouthfeel and strong aromas and flavours of espresso, dark chocolate, vanilla ice cream, and honey. It pours inky black with a caramel foam and is infused with Honduran Katia Duke Espresso from Toronto-based Cut Coffee.
Both beers are available starting today (November 23rd) in the Sawdust City saloon and retail store. LDV will also be available in 473 ml cans at select LCBO locations throughout the winter.
