Muddy York Brewing Releasing Barrel-Aged 1793 Barley Wine This Weekend

TORONTO, ON – Muddy York Brewing has announced that it’s latest barrel-aged strong beer is in bottles and ready to be released.

Barrel-Aged 1793 Barley Wine (10% abv, 73 IBU) is named in honour of “the year that Lieutenant-Governor John Graves Simcoe established the city of York as the temporary capital of Upper Canada,” and is described as follows:

Aged for eighteen months in a sauternes wine barrel from Château Lafite Rothschild in France, it manages to retain the sweetness it inherited from the barrel, while still finishing clean and dry. It is vibrant and velvety soft with notes of toffee, bitter orange, and dry fruit.

The new beer will be available in a limited run of 375 ml bottles that will be released exclusively at the Muddy York retail store on Saturday December 2nd at 11:00 AM. A smaller edition brewed at the same time but not aged in barrels will also be available while supplies last.
