Brunswick Bierworks Opening Taproom & Retail Store This Week

TORONTO, ON – Brunsick Bierworks, a brewing facility in East Toronto dedicated to creating beers with brewery partners from Canada and around the world, has announced that its taproom and retail store will be opening to the public this week.

Launching with a open house event tomorrow (December 7th) from 3:00 to 8:00 PM, Brunswick will be pouring and selling a selection of beers that have been produced on behalf of and in collaboration with breweries including PhillipsMuddy York, Cowbell, BenchWeihenstephanerMikkellerOmnipollo, and more.

One especially notable beer making its debut this week is Ora et Labora (7.5% abv), a “New World Double Bock” brewed in collaboration with La Trappe, the first such collaboration undertaken by the Dutch Trappist brewery. It’s described as follows:

The collaboration weaves traditional krausen fermentation with a mighty malt bill and a unique blend of Opal, Loral, Mandarina Bavaria and Ontario Newport hops sourced from the Americas and Europe; bridging the two worlds of brewing. The recipe is “double bock” in strength. The ingredients and process with re-fermentation is like a wheat double bock – however the fermentation and yeast is like grand cru.

As is the custom for Trappist-brewed beers, proceeds from the sales of will be donated to charity – in this case, Kyotera Hospital in Uganda, which is a key player in the fight against AIDS/HIV in the region.

Following tomorrow’s open house, the Brunswick Bierworks taproom and store will be open on Saturdays from 11:00 to 6:00 PM. For more details, see the Brunswick Instagram feed.
