Spinnakers Brewpub Reviving Brewer’s Reserve Series with Prunus & Rubus Sour Ales

VICTORIA, BC – Spinnakers Brewpub has announced the revival of its Brewer’s Reserve series of limited edition releases with a renewed focus on barrel-aged beers, two of which will be making their debut this weekend.

Prunus Plum Sour (4.9% abv) and Rubus Blackberry Sour (5.1% abv) are described as follows:

Prunus – This blend of golden and brown ale sour barrels was aged for one year before receiving a heaping addition of Saanich grown plums. Once the fruit was added, we allowed another four months of aging to bring out the delicate, floral and juicy plum flavours.

Rubus – After aging for a year, these golden and sour wheat barrels received a generous addition of locally foraged blackberries which then aged for an additional 3 months, resulting in a beautifully complex blend.

Both beers will be released tomorrow (January 20th) at 3:00 PM at Spinnakers, each in a limited run of 90 cases of 500 ml bottles. For more details, see the launch party event listing on Facebook.
