Moody Ales Releases Trio of Beers

VANCOUVER, BCMoody Ales has announced the release of three beers today (February 16th), including a hoppy ale that gives a nod to a cult classic comedy, the 2018 vintage of an annual winter seasonal, and a flavoured saison inspired by the work of a local homebrewer.

Boss Juice Hazy Double IPA (8.3% abv, 80 IBU) has the following notes:

Lumbergh approved hazy double IPA. Ignore the paper jam, scrap the TPS reports, and enjoy this beer. Inspired by the double IPAs of the North East, influenced by the west coast, this double IPA has massive juicy aroma and flavour, with a pronounced bitterness. Balanced and frighteningly easy drinking.

Bourbon Barrel Aged Russian Imperial Stout 2018 (11% abv, 32 IBU) is described as follows:

Our Russian Imperial Stout is brewed in the English tradition – high gravity and highly hopped to balance the sweetness of all that malt. This is a complex beer that drinks smooth and is best enjoyed after it warms up a bit. We age this beer for 6 months in bourbon barrels to add to the complexity and make something very special.

Intrepid Lemon Matcha Saison (6.6% abv, 35 IBU) has the following backstory:

Here at Moody Ales we are proud of our homebrewing roots – that’s why we regularily serve beers inspired by local homebrew recipes in our tasting room. When local homebrewer Steve Sheldon shared his Lemon Matcha Saison with us, we knew we had to share it with as many beer lovers as we could. Intrepid Lemon Matcha Saison is the result of this collaboration. Crisp, refreshing, earthy, spicy, unique – this beer is a celebration of homebrewed creativity.

All three beers are now pouring in the Moody Ales tap room, and are also available in the retail shop – 4-packs of 473 ml cans of Boss Juice, 650 ml bottles of Stout and Saison – while supplies last.
