Nickel Brook Brewing Releasing Winey Bastard and Soursop & Tangerine Uber Next Week

BURLINGTON, ON – Nickel Brook Brewery has announced release details for the final variation in the 2017-18 Bastard series of aged Imperial Stouts, as well as the March installment in its small-batch Funk Lab series.

The 2018 vintage of Winey Bastard (12% abv, 70 IBU) is described as follows:

Our full-bodied Imperial Stout full of rich chocolate, coffee, and dark fruit notes is placed into Pinot Noir Barrels for a full year while it matures. Pinot Noir barrels add a new layer of complexity to this delicious brew, bringing inviting fruit and floral notes with a pleasantly tart finish. Earthy aromas, and a pronounced grape character blended with oak, breaths life into this wonderful winter warmer. Flavours of molasses, cocoa and figs greet a long and flavourful finish.

The new Funk Lab release is Soursop & Tangerine Uber, which has the following brief notes:

After falling in love with soursop in our last 11.05 collab, we’ve brought it back, tossed it in our Uber base, added in some tangerines, and BAM!

Both beers will be released on Saturday March 3rd at the Nickel Brook retail shop in Burlington. They will also be available via the brewery’s online store, with pre-orders for Winey Bastard available now, and for Soursop & Tangerine Uber starting on February 28th.
