Black Lab Brewing Opening This Summer in East Toronto

TORONTO, ON – A new brewery affiliated with one of Canada’s largest beer running clubs is set to open in Toronto later this year.

Black Lab Brewing is being established by Dan Grant, co-founder of RunTOBeer, and long-time club member Billy Madden.

As Grant explains to Ontario Beverage Network, the brewpub – which is named after his affinity for black lab dogs, as well as the black facade of the building – will serve as RunTOBeer’s de facto clubhouse, and as such will be “a place where runners feel like it’s their place as well. We’re looking at things like adding lockers, where runners can store personal items while they’re out on the nearby trails.”

Grant also notes that Black Lab has hired an award-winning brewer to oversee production, with four beers expected to be on tap at opening, and more to follow soon after.

Black Lab Brewing will be located at 818 Eastern Avenue – a short distance from both Rorschach Brewing and Radical Road Brewing – and is expected to open in the late summer. More details are expected to be announced soon via the brewery’s Twitter and Instagram feeds.
