TORONTO, ON – British Columbia craft beer quarterly The Growler has announced the upcoming debut of an Ontario edition.
Set to release its first issue in May, the Ontario version of The Growler will also be a quarterly publication, with content overseen by editor David Ort.
As with the original BC edition, the core section of each issue will feature extensive and detailed brewery listings in which the breweries are “mapped and profiled, letting you know what kind of beers are available, what amenities each brewery offers, where their beers are available—all in an easy-to-read, portable format.” The first issue will focus on the Golden Horseshoe region, before expanding to cover every brewery in Ontario within the first year of publication.
“This is going to be the type of guide that beer lovers will tuck into their bags and glove compartments,” says Ort in a press release. “I think you’ll see lots of people bringing the first issue with them on brewery crawls this summer.”
As Ort explains, the content will “take readers all over the province (and eventually beyond) with travel pieces, into restaurant kitchens with recipes, and into the heads of Ontario’s top brewers with our regular columns. We’re going to feature sharp writing and beautiful artwork because we know that craft beer drinkers appreciate a thoughtfully designed premium product.”
The Ontario edition of The Growler will be available at breweries and newsstands throughout Ontario, as well as online on The Growler website. Further information will be announced via Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram closer to the May launch date.
