Voluntary Recall Announced for Stella Artois Bottles in Canada & U.S.

TORONTO, ONAnheuser-Busch InBev and Labatt Breweries have announced that bottles of Stella Artois in Canada and the U.S. are being recalled due to a risk of them containing glass particles.

According to a press release, a manufacturing flaw was found in a number of bottles from one of several third party production facilities that provide packaging for Stella Artois. The recall includes less than 1% of the bottles sold in North America annually.

Packages falling under the recall in Canada include select production lots of Stella Artois 6-packs, 12-packs, 18-packs, and 24-packs, as well as “Best of Belgium” multi-packs. Affected packages can by identified by checking production codes.

“The safety of our consumers is our top priority. While the number of potentially-affected glass bottles is very small, we are recalling these Stella Artois packages as a precautionary measure,” said Christina Choi, Global Brand VP, Stella Artois in a statement. “Our team of technical experts has been working with our third-party glass bottle supplier to ensure this packaging flaw has been addressed.”
