SARNIA, ON – The Sarnia Journal reports that a local restaurant and bar has received city approval for a zoning change to allow for the operation a small on-site brewery.
Stoke’s Bay Grill & Bar (485 Harbour Road, Sarnia) has been open in the Southwestern Ontario city since 1993. Co-owner Chris Pavli tells the paper that “with the adjacent Centennial Park now refurbished and other new developments underway, the time is right for another microbrewery in Sarnia.”
No public objections were raised to the rezoning request, which was reviewed and approved by the city last week.
Work is expected to start soon to “redesign the interior to accommodate a small brewery in the west end of the building, as well as a taproom and small retail store offering its new brews.”
