Ontario Craft Brewers Announces Winners of 2018 Women in Craft Brewing Bursaries

TORONTO, ON – Ontario Craft Brewers has announced the winners of the 2018 edition of its Women in Ontario Craft Brewing beer education scholarship program.
This year’s bursaries will cover the registration fees for Prud’homme Beer Certification training for the following five awardees, who were selected via lottery from 24 entrants:
Andrea Smith, Split Rail Brewing – Winner of full program, including Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 (Prud’homme Beer Sommelier; value $2,250)
Jennifer Hart, Shawn & Ed Brewing – Winner of Level 1 and Level 2 (Beer Specialist; value $1,050)
Brittany Bateman, Black Oak Brewery; Emily Ebers, Whitewater Brewing; and Kirby Scott-Breeze, Full Beard Brewing – Winners of Level 1 (Beer Enthusiast; value $350 x 3)
The Women in Ontario Craft Brewing bursaries are available to female employees of OCB member breweries who are 19+ and have been working at the brewery for more than a year. Entry details for the 2019 edition are expected to be announced next spring.
