NSLC Dropping Size Restriction on Beer Pours at Nova Scotia Breweries

HALIFAX, NSCBC News reports that the NSLC is dropping a rule that limits the size of samples that can be poured for customers at breweries across the province.

Currently, most brewery tasting rooms operate under a hospitality license that only allows for the use of four-ounce glasses for beer samples. A few breweries have also applied for a beverage room license in order to pour larger glasses, but as the CBC article notes, this license “created additional oversight that didn’t work for some breweries.”

Effective July 1st, the four-ounce limit will be removed for breweries, allowing all tasting rooms to offer full glasses. However, the limit will still be in effect at off-site events.
