2 Crows Brewing Releasing Ramble Wild Table Witbier & Wild Skies Brett Sour

HALIFAX, NS – 2 Crows Brewing has announced details of two new beers that will be released later this week, just in time for the long weekend.

Ramble (2.9% abv) is a Wild Table Witbier – “which is totally not a style but we didn’t know what else to call it” – that is described as follows:

Brewed with Pilsner malt, wheat malt, and a touch of flaked oats, hopped lightly in the boil with Sterling and Citra, and with coriander and orange peel added at the end of the boil. We fermented the beer warm with a blend of wild yeasts and gave the beer lots of time to develop some nice lightly funky character. We dry hopped it lightly with Citra and a bit more orange zest, and finally packaged it with the addition of champagne yeast and sugar — this allowed for a secondary fermentation to occur in keg and can, creating a nice bright and tight carbonation. Lightly funky, bright, fresh, slightly tart, and a whole lotta fun.

Wild Skies (5.2% abv) is a Fruited Brett Sour with the following notes:

Brewed with Pilsner malt, spelt, wheat, and oats, with no hops added to the boil. We soured this beer with lacto plantarum, and fermented it with a blend of 6 different brettanomyces yeasts. After primary fermentation, we added a fiscally irresponsible amount of peach, apricot, and blackberry puree — over 1200lbs in total. Finally, we dry hopped this beer with a substantial quantity of Australian Galaxy and Enigma hops. The result is super fruity, tart, lively, with just the right amount of funk.

Both beers will be available in limited runs of 473 ml cans at 2 Crows on Friday August 3rd starting at 12:00 noon. For more details, see the 2 Crows Brewing Facebook page.
