CALGARY, AB – The Alberta Small Brewers Association (ASBA) has announced details of the 2018 edition of Unity Brew, the annual collaborative beer from ASBA member breweries.
Alberta Maltsters Red Ale was brewed on September 28th at Blindman Brewing in Lancombe, with brewers and other representatives from 50 Alberta breweries on hand for the brewday.
As suggested by its name, the beer was brewed using malt sourced exclusively from maltsters in the province, including Canada Malting (Calgary), Hogarth Malt (Olds), Origin Malting (Strathmore), Rahr Malting (Alix), and Red Shed Malting (Penhold).
Alberta Maltsters Red Ale will be officially launched on Friday October 19th to kick off Alberta Beer Week, which will run until Saturday October 27th with more than 80 events taking place in 15 Alberta communities. The beer will be available exclusively at brewery taprooms throughout Alberta, with a full list to be posted soon on the ASBA website.
