High Park Brewery Acquires Draught Dodger Brewery

TORONTO, ON – High Park Brewery has announced that it has purchased the brands and assets of Draught Dodger Brewery, a contract brewer based in Toronto.

“We felt that Draught Dodger’s core brand offerings were very approachable and easy-drinking, and would make a great addition to our own beer styles, and that the Draught Dodger owners fit in well with our core team and embraced our values and outlook as a B Corp and community focused brewery,” says High Park co-founder Ted Clark in a statement.

“We are Canadian focused and Toronto centric and High Park is a central piece of our wonderful city,” adds Draught Dodger co-founder Mathew Di Iorio. “Having the opportunity to partner with the people at High Park Brewery and contribute to our ever growing community, as well as the craft beer industry, will continue to be a privilege and pleasure.”

Draught Dodger Brewery was launched in the summer of 2015 with core brand Yellow Truck Blond Lager, which is available in cans at LCBO stores and on draught at select locations. Other draught-only brands have included White Squirrel APA and Brewzer Red IPA.

High Park Brewery also debuted in 2015 as a contract brewery, and is currently in the final stages of opening its own brewery and taproom at 839 Runnymede Road in Toronto’s west end. While the official opening won’t be taking place until final permits are in from the city, there will be a preview open house and Hallowe’en party on Saturday October 27th.
