Vancouver Island Brewing Releases 2018 Edition of Hermannator Ice Bock

VICTORIA, BC – Vancouver Island Brewery has announced that its longest running seasonal brand has returned for its 31st annual appearance.

First brewed in 1987 by original VIB brewmaster Hermann Hoerterer for friends and family of the brewery, Hermannator Ice Bock (9.5% abv, 25 IBU) has gone on to become one of the most iconic seasonal craft beers in Canada. It’s described as follows:

This beer takes over three months to produce spending significant time at subzero temperatures to create a rich malt body, with notes of chocolate, coffee & brandied plums. It is the perfect beer to enjoy over the holiday season.

A launch party for the new vintage will be taking place today (October 29th) starting at 5:00 PM at the Garricks Head Pub (1140 Government Street, Victoria). In addition to the 2018 version there will three other editions of Hermannator on tap, including the 2017 version, a  2018 bourbon barrel aged version, and a 2017 wine barrel aged version.
