Route 19 Brewing Opening This Weekend in Cape Breton

INVERNESS, NS – A Cape Breton brewery and restaurant that has been under construction for more than a year has announced that it will be opening this weekend in Inverness.

Route 19 Brewing has been founded by a partnership group that includes Wayne Gillis, his son Evan Gillis, the unrelated Cliff Gillis, Paul Aucoin, Ryan McIsaac, Paul Mitchell, and Gilbert Whyte, most of whom are residents of the area. The multi-million dollar facility includes a brewhouse, tasting room, retail shop, and 300-seat restaurant.

Beers pouring for this weekend’s opening on Friday April 26th and Saturday April 27th will include The Nineteenth Hole Pale Ale (4% abv), 1497 IPA (6.5% abv), Sea Ice Double IPA (9% abv), Red Rows Scotch Ale (5% abv), and Coal Dust Stout (8% abv). The launch nights will also feature live music by Keith Mullins and – on Friday only – Colin Grant.

Route 19 Brewing is located at 16030 Route 19, across from Cabot Links Golf Course. Business hours for the spring will be 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM on Sunday to Thursday, and 4:00 PM to 1:00 AM on Friday and Saturday.
