Grain & Grit Beer Bringing Back Max’s Big Beer Milkshake IPA for Max’s Big Ride

HAMILTON, ON – Grain & Grit Beer Co. is set to release the 2nd annual addition of a beer in support of a charity raising funds to fight a severe form of muscular dystrophy.

Max’s Big Beer is a milkshake IPA with peach and vanilla, two favourite flavours of eight-year-old Max Sedmihradsky who inspired the beer. For this year’s edition, the beer features a “new and improved recipe [that] contains fuzzy peach candy and real vanilla beans for a crisper, lighter and even more delicious result.”

Max has Duchenne muscular dystrophy, and over the past four years he and his father Andrew have raised more than $170,000 for research into the disease through Max’s Big Ride, a 600 km trip from Hamilton to Ottawa that they take via cargobike each summer.

Max’s Big Beer will be going on sale at Grain & Grit tomorrow (Friday May 24th), and a family-friendly launch party featuring the Dover Boys Food Truck and various games and activities will take place at the brewery on Sunday June 2nd from 12:00 noon to 4:00 PM. 50 cents from each can of Max’s Big Beer sold will be donated to the Gunning Group Lab at the University of Toronto Mississauga via the Jesse’s Journey charity.
