New Brunswick Launching Grocery Store Beer Sales This Autumn

FREDERICTON, NB – The New Brunswick Government and NB Liquor have announced that beer will be available at select grocery stores in the province starting this October.

Building on a project launched in 2014 to sell wine and cider at grocery stores, the expanded beverage selection will include “beer (in specific package sizes), ready-to-drink products, an updated wine selection and local products.”

“NB Liquor’s extensive customer research indicates our customers are looking for more convenient opportunities to shop for specific occasions,” said the agency’s acting president and CEO Brad Cameron in a statement. “We are very pleased to be working with our industry partners to add this offering for our customers as NB Liquor continues to be responsive to their needs and preferences.”

There are currently 66 grocery stores selling wine and cider in New Brunswick. It’s likely that beer sales will be phased in at these same locations.
