Breakaway Brewing Now Open in Summerland, BC

SUMMERLAND, BC – A new brewery and taproom founded by two former college hockey players from Colorado is now open in BC’s South Okanagan.

Breakaway Brewing has been opened in the town of Summerland by long-time friends Owen Rauer and Jake Reiner, and is located in a building owned by Rauer’s father that was home to Cozy Bay Fish ‘n Chips until last year.

Open since last Friday (July 5th), Breakaway currently has four of its own beers on tap including Dry Hopped Pilsner, IPA, Chocolate Stout, and Peach Wheat, plus guest taps from Bad Tattoo and Dominion Cider. A food menu focused on fresh, healthy, and locally sourced options is also available.

Breakaway Brewing is located at 13224 Victoria Road North in Summerland, and is currently open Thursday to Sunday from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM. For more details, see the brewery’s Instagram page.
