Bench Brewing Releases Rosé Wildwood and Elderflower Trail

BEAMSVILLE, ON – Bench Brewing has announced details of two new limited edition ales that were released this past weekend.

Rosé Wildwood (6% abv) is the latest in the Wildwood series of barrel-aged mixed fermentation ales, and is described as follows:

Rosé Wildwood was made with Pinot Noir grapes grown down the road from us at Cuesta vineyards, and local strawberries from our neighbours Tigchelaar Berry Farms that lends a beautiful, well, rose colour to the beer! We used a blend of ales aged in Featherstone Winery, Fielding Winery and Thirty Bench Winery barrels, and foeder-aged golden sour made with our house culture. Finally, we refermented this blend on the Pinot Noir grape juice and strawberries before finishing it on steel, leaving bright aromas of strawberry and grape with a tangy acidity and Brettanomyces character that will continue to develop with time.

Elderflower Trail (5.7% abv) is the newest edition in the Trail series of beers made with foraged botanicals and other local ingredients, and has the following notes:

Elderflower Trail is a Brett Farmhouse Ale on Twenty Valley Elderflowers, on a barrel-fermented base beer that spent a year aging in red wine barrels from Malivoire Winery, Thirty Bench Winery and Angels Gate Wines. We then took this base beer and refermented it on elderflowers hand-picked by our brewmaster Mark at our local farming neighbours Thimbleberry Farms, along with farmers Blackberry Bob and his wife Lucie! This special beer has creamy floral aromas of the elderflower with delicate earthy, funky notes that developed while cellared in the Twenty Valley red wine barrels.

Both beers are available now in 500 ml bottles at Bench Brewing while supplies last.
