Bandit Brewery Releases Meadow Barrel-Aged Farmhouse Ale with Passionfruit

TORONTO, ON – Bandit Brewery has released a new variant on a beer that was first available last spring.

Meadow: Passionfruit (6% abv) is a fruit-infused version of the original Meadow Blended Barrel-Aged Sour Saison with Brett. The new flavoured edition is described as follows:

When we started planning this beer we decided to brew two different Farmhouse Ales, lightly soured with a combination of lactobacillus, pediococcus, and Saison yeasts. We filled our Niagara region wine barrels with the beer and let them age for the past 12 months. Wild fermentation can often take the flavours into unexpected territories, so having two distinctly different versions of the same beer allows us to do a blend in order to better balance this beer’s acidity and funkiness. The fruit addition doesn’t come until near the end of the process, followed by a month-long bottle-conditioning period, which allows for some more natural carbonation.

Pouring a bright golden orange, Meadow-Passionfruit bursts with tropical fruit aromas brought forth by the lively carbonation. Well-rounded with a perfect balance of sweet and sour, this farmhouse style drinks like pure juice with a pleasantly dry finish and subtle hints of funk.

Meadow is available now on tap and in bottles at Bandit, with bottles also available via Bandit’s online shop.
