LANGFORD, BC – Just days after the closure of Axe & Barrel Brewing in the Victoria suburb of Langford, a local contract brewer has taken over the business and plans to reopen it soon.
V2V Black Hops Brewing is a non-profit venture launched in 2018 by Navy and Air Force veteran Graeme Hafey that donates a percentage of all beer sales to rehabilitative programs supporting military and first responder veterans across the country.
Two flagship beers – Victory Ale English-Style Bitter and The Brig Blonde Ale – have been brewed under contract at Spinnakers Brewpub in Victoria, and will be available at the new brewery alongside a selection of other beers developed by co-owner and brewmaster Duncan Blackman.
V2V Black Hops Brewing is hoping to open its brewery and taproom at 2323 Millstream Road in Langford by mid-March. For more details, see the brewery’s website.
