Developed by brewer Adam Chatburn, the continuing education program has the following description:
Prepare for an exciting and rewarding career in the craft brewing and malting industry or start your own craft brewery. You’ll gain hands-on experience working with industry experts developing and mastering brewing recipes, handling and operating commercial brewing equipment and learning the economic fundamentals of operating a successful brewing business.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the three fall semester classes – Beer and Brewing Basics, Recipe Development and Quality Control, and The Business of Craft Brewing – will be taught online.
The remaining hands-on courses – Introduction to Brewing Equipment Operation, The Biology and Chemistry of Brewing, and Malting Fundamentals – will take place in 2021 (dates TBC) at NIC’s Comox Valley Campus.
For more information including tuition and enrollment details, see the course page on the NIC website.
